Links that point to yoursite are called inbound links.

Outbound links are the URLs you link to from your website.

Internal links are pointing to pages within your site, from any other page on your website.

Exchanging links with another website is called creating a reciprocal link. These are not always as valuable in search engine’s eyes as other links.

You should really give three way links a try. It will save you so much time tracking down reciprocal links and everyone gains far more from this arrangement.
